Application to approve a 5 storey apartment complex on Dorchester Road voted down
Niagara Falls City Council has unanimously turned down an application for a new development.
Council was being asked to approve a 5 storey apartment building which would house 74 units on Dorchester Road, south of Lundy's Lane.
It was the latest development application for a parcel of property that has been before Council on multiple occasions over the past 20 years, often being met with opposition from the owners of the nearby well-established single family homes.
The applicant, Angelo Butera, principle of Dorchester Property Holdings Inc., has experience in the area.
He previously developed the 4 and 5 storey, 154 unit apartment complex on the former Diamond Jubilee school property, which is also located adjacent to the two-lane Dorchester Road.
