This comes after residents pushed for it on Angie Drive
A unanimous vote from Niagara Falls city council means a 4-way stop will go in at Angie and Pauline Drive, after complaints of speeding traffic.
Resident Steven Docherty said the speeding became worse after Angie Drive was connected to Garner Road, all south of Lundy's Lane.
He adds speed humps meant to slow traffic are a joke. "It turns out the space is perfect to straddle your vehicle. They don't serve to calm the traffic at all, in fact, they serve to entice people to swerve into on-coming traffic in an attempt to straddle."
Councillor Mona Patel was supportive as she lives in the area.
It's taken a number of years for the city to act, with a number of councillors visiting the area.
Manager of Public Works Erik Nickel explained the delays were due to strict provincial rules to avoid potential problems. "Now people could be confused, and they don't know what to do, as they aren't expecting it [an additional stop light, stop]. For example, a traffic light, where you don't need a traffic light in the middle of nowhere, and someone might speed through it, and now you have a conflict that you didn't intend to create."
He supported council's unanimous decision for the stop sign.
