Niagara Health will have a new Chief of Oncology.
Dr. Michael Levesque will start his new job on Sunday but he has actually been with Niagara Health since 2008.
Chief of Staff Dr. Johan Viljoen says he's is a highly respected physician.
"Dr. Levesque will be instrumental in helping us continue to grow our Oncology Program, which provides high-quality care to the people we serve."
Dr. Levesque has previously served as the Medical Head of Systemic Therapy, Gynecologic Oncology Site Lead and Genitourinary Cancers Site Lead.
He's also an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Oncology at McMaster University.
Dr. Levesque is going to take over for Dr. Janice Giesbrecht.
She has served two terms as Chief of Oncology and she played a big role in opening the Walker Family Cancer Centre back in 2013.
