Niagara Health is speaking out after reports about a patient being tested for coronavirus at the St. Catharines Hospital.
They are confirming one patient was tested and the results came back negative.
Niagara Health is respecting the patient's privacy and will not release further information.
Patients are being screened for the virus at all sites across Niagara, based on medical condition and travel history.
Niagara Health says while the risk to Ontarians is low, they are taking added precautions to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
They are reminding everyone to wash your hands often, to stay home if you are sick and to cover your cough or sneezes.
