Niagara Health Launching COVID Vaccine Program Today

First shipments of the vaccine arrived yesterday.

The head of Niagara Health says the arrival of the first shipment of COVID-19 vaccine to the region marks a turning point in the region's response to the pandemic.

Starting today health care workers, essential care givers and residents of long term care homes will get their first of two shots of the Pfizer vaccine

Other at risk groups will then receive the vaccine throughout the spring and summer.

Niagara Health says the general public is slated to start receiving their vaccines by late summer.
