Niagara Health is reporting a jump in COVID-19 hospitalizations.
The hospital says it is caring for 39 patients who have tested positive, seven of which are being treated primarily for other conditions.
Emergency Department visits are also returning to pre-pandemic levels, and surgical volumes are reportedly close to 90 percent capacity.
While critical care admissions remain stable, acute care admissions remain high across all Niagara Health sites.
Officials say the increase was expected as public health measures lifted and people started spending more time together.
Niagara Health also notes that there are no plans to change its infection prevention and control measures.
