Torch relay to kickoff in Ottawa in late spring
The Niagara Host Society, Canada Games Council and Canada Steamship Lines have released details of the 2022 Torch Relay Program for the Canada Summer Games.
This time around, the Torch will travel by water, in tribute to the historical significance of water transportation across the country and through Niagara.
The journey of the Roly McLenahan Torch will kickoff with a lighting ceremony in Ottawa in late spring 2022.
It'll then head to Montreal before making its way to Niagara via the St. Lawrence Seaway.
The torch will then disembark from the ship to the Welland Canal before stopping at each of the municipalities in Niagara.
It will make its way to the Meridian Centre on August 6th for the opening ceremony of the Niagara 2022 Canada Summer Games, where the Canada Games cauldron will be lit.
