That amount would only cover the basic necessities
Ever wonder how much a person living in Niagara would have to earn just to afford a basic lifestyle?
According to a new report by the Ontario Living Wage Network that person would have to make $18.90 to get by in the Niagara Region.
The report found that same person living wage in Ontario’s biggest city, Toronto, would need to make $22.08 an hour.
The OLWN defines a living wage as the amount needed to cover the costs of food, clothes, shelter, transportation, child care, medical care, recreation and a modest vacation.
