Two local MPs are encouraging Niagara's top doctor to loosen restaurant dining restrictions.
Niagara West MP Dean Allison and Niagara Falls MP Tony Baldinelli, have written a letter to Dr. Mustafa Hirji, urging him to drop the restriction limiting dining to four members of the same household.
The letter says Niagara is one of only a few regions in the province requiring patrons to dine only with four members of their household.
It also argues lifting the restriction will help local restaurants recover from financial losses brought on by the pandemic.
