Niagara-on-the-Lake to Switch to LED Streetlights

Niagara-on-the-Lake is going to reduce it's carbon footprint by switching to LED streetlights.

Crews will replace 598 lights thanks to a new partnership with RealTerm Energy.

RealTerm is going to split the cost of the project with the town through an Energy Performance Contract.

CAO Sheldon Randall says the town should save about 67 percent on energy in the first year plus another 44 percent in streetlighting costs.

Installation begins next month and all of the lights should be up and running by December.
