One part of Niagara has been identified as a COVID-19 hot spot.
The L2G postal code in Niagara is now listed by the province as a hot spot area making residents who are 50 plus living within that region eligible to receive a vaccine in Phase 2 of the Ford government’s rollout plan.
In a release, the province says eligible residents living in high risk and hot spot areas will begin receiving the vaccine this month into May.
The province says details on when those living in the L2G code can book a vaccine appointment will be coming from Niagara Public Health.
Earlier today, Premier Doug Ford announced that Ontario is moving into the second phase of the COVID-19 vaccination rollout, stating that Niagara will be one of 13 health units to receive additional doses.
