Petition presented to House of Commons
Allison co-sponsored the petition earlier this month, that calls on the federal government to suspend the use of COVID-19 vaccines for all pregnant women, children, youth and adults of child bearing age until the ongoing short- and long-term safety trials are fully completed and published in peer-reviewed journals.
The petition falsely claims the Pfizer vaccine can cause infertility.
UBC professor, Steven Pelech initiated the petition.
Yesterday , Allison raised the ire of St. Catharines MP Chris Bittle after he took to Twitter to say "Provinces are following the science and are moving away from traumatizing and divisive restrictions, mandates and vaccine passports. Dr. Mustafa Hirji is one of few still advocating for them."
Bittle fired back "Dr. Hirji has spent the entire pandemic trying to save lives. Dean Allison has spent the entire pandemic sowing disinformation and causing greater harm. The irony, which is lost on Dean, is that the anti-vaxx crowd have prolonged the restrictions they protest against."
