A Niagara Regional Police officer will not be charged following a fatal motorcycle accident in May.
Ontario's Special Investigations Unit is closing the file on a motorcycle accident that claimed the life of a 20 year old in St. Catharines last May.
Joseph Martino, the SIU's Director says there is no reasonable grounds to believe a Niagara Regional Police officer committed a criminal offence in connection with the collision.
On May 25, police initiated a pursuit of the man as his motorcycle was improperly plated and he was not wearing a helmet.
Moments following the chase, the man crashed his motorcycle and was pronounced dead in hospital.
Martino says the file has been closed.
