Lord Mayor Betty Disero says the Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake is not open for business yet.
She says the municipality is going to post signs on the outskirts of town that say “Local Traffic Only” and “Please Stay Home” in order to get the message across.
She says the town has been seeing an influx of tourists asking to use the washrooms in grocery stores in gas stations.
Disero says the municipality is going to offer “no public restroom” signs to the stores in response.
She is also encouraging store owners to have similar signs posted in their parking lots.
