Police say he was texting who he thought was a 14-year old girl on the Internet, for sexual purposes
An arrest has been made by Niagara Regional police targeting people using the Internet to meet children for a sexual purpose.
Police started looking into a certain case in August, and over a 4-month period say a suspect is alleged to have texted via the Internet with someone he thought was a 14-year old girl.
Yesterday, the suspect showed up at a pre-arranged place to meet her for a sexual purpose, and that's when cops moved in.
Police have charged 49-year old Domenico Giuseppe Cianflone of Mississauga with:
- Luring a child via telecommunication to facilitate the offence of Sexual Interference
- Make written Child Pornography
Police believe he's used online names HockeyCoach, Joe, and Joed3300 to reach other children on the internet.
He had a bail hearing today in St. Catharines.
