24th year of back to school safety initiative nabs 57 speeding drivers
57 speeding tickets and 29 other tickets for various traffic offences were issued on the first day of school in Niagara.
Niagara Regional Police were out in full force yesterday in schools zones cracking down on motorists who disobeyed the law in school zones.
In total, police conducted 147 traffic stops with an additional 56 warnings issued as well as three people arrested as they were found to have outstanding arrest warrants.
It was the 24th year for the back to school safety initiative.
