St.Catharines man facing second degree murder charge
Niagara Regional Police are investigating a stabbing that happened just before 10 p.m. on Thursday in the area of Niagara and Church Streets in St. Catharines.
Uniform officers and Niagara Emergency Medical Services arrived on scene and located a male with life threatening injuries.
He was transported to an out of region hospital where he was tragically pronounced deceased.
A suspect was quickly identified and arrested by uniform officers.
52-year-old Stephen Dunk of St. Catharines is facing Second-Degree Murder charge.
Dunk is currently being held in custody pending a bail hearing today.
Homicide Detectives are now releasing the identity of the male victim in this investigation.
57-year-old Courtney Thomas of St. Catharines was pronounced deceased following the interaction at a residence.
