The NRP is still looking a man, after the Niagara College Glendale Campus was put on lockdown earlier today.
Police were called out to a residential break in in Niagara Falls at around 6:30 a.m. in the Stamford Green Drive and Dorchester Road area.
Reports say a gun may have been involved, but no one was seriously injured.
A man fled the scene in a black Cadillac Escalade SUV before police arrived. The stolen vehicle was later found close to the college campus in Niagara-on-the-Lake.
School officials put the campus on lockdown at around 9:00 a.m.
Students and staff were told to stay indoors, while incoming vehicles were directed to the Outlet Mall until further notice.
Officers searched the area and the lockdown was eventually lifted at around 9:15 a.m.
But the NRP is still looking for their suspect, who is described as a darker skinned adult man wearing black clothing.
Police believe this was a targeted incident.
Anyone with information should contact Niagara Regional Police by calling 905- 688-4111, dial option 3 and use badge #9496.
Officers would also like to speak with anyone who was in the Taylor Road and Glendale area at around 6:30 a.m.
