Fantastic news for sports and music fans.
New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo says arenas can re-open on Feb. 23rd, and fans can watch up close and in person for the first time in nearly a year.
Arenas and stadiums that can hold 10,000 people or more will only be permitted to fill 10 percent of their capacity and all those attending must show proof of a negative COVID test within 72 hours of the event.
During the announcement, Cuomo pointed to a pilot project involving the Bills that allowed 7,000 fans into Bills Stadium to attend playoff games after testing negative for COVID 19.
Cuomo calling it an unqualified success that paved the way for the reopening of venues.
The directive also allows limited fans to attend music, shows and performances at arenas and stadiums.
