Special Investigations Unit called in after man found hurt after arrest
A Niagara regional police officer has been cleared of any wrongdoing after the arrest of a man in December.
The province's Special Investigations Unit says a 43-year old man was taken into custody at his home in Caistor Centre.
Following the arrest, he was diagnosed with a serious injury the SIU says could have happened during the arrest.
After an investigation, the SIU's director has determined the arresting officer did not commit a criminal offence in relation to the man's injury, and therefore the case in closed.
