Accessible Trick or Treating is a nationwide campaign. It advertises which houses in your community will be accessible to all kids this Halloween.
You can pick up your own sign at participating Home Depot stores. Here in Niagara, we have the one in Niagara Falls (7190 Morrison Street) or at the one in St. Catharines (20 YMCA Drive.)
Homeowners can also do the following this Halloween;
- Hand out candy from your driveway or out of your garage. Take stairs out of the equation.
- Make sure all pathways are clear and well lit.
- Avoid using strobe lights.
- Move all cars out of your driveway to improve accessibility.
- Make sure your pets are secure and kept safely away from the front of the house.
