Marathon proceeds to benefit four local charities
Over 70 golfers are about to hit in course for a good cause.
The 12th Annual Niagara Golf Marathon will take place August 17th at the Royal Niagara Golf Club in Niagara-on-the-Lake.
Proceeds will benefit Wellspring Niagara, Pathstone Foundation, Niagara Health Foundation and Community Care.
Since the first event in 2010, the annual event has raised over $500,000.
This year, event organizers have raised $140,000, breaking the previous record of $100,000 in one year.
The day before the event, 18 participants will take place in the cycling fundraiser, which has raised over $20,000 so far.
Niagara Golf Marathon Co-Chair Chris Sinclair says he's very excited for this year's event.
"We always knew that the Golf Marathon community could raise over $100,000,and we have done it this year! It's our golfers and riders who do all the hard work. We want to send a huge thank you to our participants, donors and sponsors."
