As cases of COVID-19 continue to climb, health officials have decided to open the Pandemic Response Unit at Joseph Brant Hospital in Burlington.
The unit, which resembles a field hospital, will serve patients from Niagara, Hamilton, Haldimand, Brant and Burlington to meet the demand for COVID 19 care and take pressure off local hospitals.
Starting this week, hospital teams providing acute COVID 19 care, including Niagara Health, will be able to transfer patients to the pandemic unit.
