COVID vaccine plans for children are rolling out across the country in what's being called a ''significant milestone.''
Ontario parents can start making appointments for eligible kids age five to 11 starting this morning at 8:00.
First doses are expected to be administered as early as Thursday.
Health Minister Christine Elliott says offering the protection of the vaccine to this age group is a crucial step in Ontario's fight against COVID-19 in advance of the holiday season
Meantime, this evening Niagara Public Health will host a virtual town hall for parents who have questions about the vaccine.
The town hall runs from 7:00 to 8:00 with Acting Medical Officer of Health Dr. Mustafa Hirji on hand to answer questions and address any concerns.
