UPDATE Friday: NRP say threat is unfounded, after viewing security cameras, and finding nothing
Update, Friday afternoon:
An update from Niagara regional police concerning that threat at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary school in Thorold.
They say after looking through security cameras, no threat ever existed as reported.
They are closing this matter as unfounded.
Original Story:
Some tense moments this afternoon at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary school in Thorold.
Police were called to the Collier Road school after day care staff reported a child stated seeing a man with a knife in the building.
Staff secured themselves and the kids in a safe place, while police cleared the buildiing, but didn't find anything suspicious.
The school returned to normal activities just over an hour later.
Police are also looking into the validity of the initial report.
