Convenience store in Wainfleet robbed
Police are looking for a suspect after an armed robbery in Wainfleet.
Around 3:18 a.m. this morning, officers responded to a robbery that had just occurred at a convenience store on Regional Road 24 near Regional Road 27.
An employee told police a man entered the store with a gun, and asked for cash and cigarettes.
A single shot was fired into the ceiling.
The employee wasn't hurt.
Police say the suspect took off in a grey coloured SUV with a hood scoop and a sunroof, and headed northbound on Regional Road 24.
The suspect is described as follows:
- Male
- White
- 30 to 40 years
- Approx. 5’10" tall
- Medium to heavy build
- Wearing a black jacket or hoodie
- Wearing blue jeans
Nearby residences and businesses are asked to check any security footage and call police at 905-688-4111, option 3, extension 1008393 if they see something suspicious.
