Elderly victim remains in hospital in critical condition
Niagara Regional Police are still investigating a hit and run that sent a man to hospital.
Around 8:24 Thursday night, an 84 year old cyclist was found in a ditch on East West Line near Concession Road 2 in Niagara-on-the-Lake.
Police say he was struck from behind while riding his bike, and the driver fled the scene.
He was taken to hospital with life threatening injuries and remains in critical condition.
Investigators say the car involved was either a GMC Yukon, a Chevrolet Suburban or a GMC Sierra Pickup Truck.
The vehicle is described as metallic or silver, and will be missing a passenger side view mirror.
Detectives are asking anyone in the area with dashcams or security cameras to review their footage, and call them with any tips.
