Police asking if you're missing anything from a loved one's cemetery plot, to call them
Police are urging anyone who has a loved one interned at Pleasantview Cemetery in Fonthill to make sure any valuables left following burial are still there.
They say a man and woman have been arrested after valuables were stolen last month, however, they've discovered this has happened throughout Burlington, Oakville and Toronto.
The suspects sold the stolen property at pawn shops, private sales, or melted them down, police also say some discarded items contained human remains.
On November 7th, police arrested 45-year old John Ruch, and 31-year old Jordan Noble, both of no fixed address, at a Niagara Falls hotel, each charged with:
- Break and Enter – Commit in a Place Other than a Dwelling (8 Charges)
- Indignity to a Body (8 Charges)
Police add Ruch will answer a Halton court concerning an additional 28 charges in that area, while Noble is in the same area, waiting to answer 25 charges. They both will then answer to the Niagara charges.
Police have recovered hundreds of items, and ask if you suspect items are missing, call police.
