Residents complained of trucks in Lincoln
More transport trucks have been taken off the QEW in Niagara after another safety blitz by various police forces.
Niagara Regional police tell us that they, alongside other police forces, were responding to residential complaints of truck drivers by-passing the Vineland Inspection Station, and travelling through Lincoln, or West Lincoln.
On Tuesday, police focused on those trucks, and pulled over 150 into inspection.
Police took 16 vehicles off the road for safety issues, took one set of licence plates, and handed out 37 tickets.
Those tickets were for not doing a morning pre-trip inspection, or for not doing it correctly, as well as unsafe loads, and failing to meet performance standards.
