Port Colborne City Council has given the green light to an Operating Budget for 2021.
Taxpayers can expect a property tax increase of 2.44 percent next year, which comes to about $82.
The increase will assist with numerous initiatives, which include increasing the community grant program by 20 percent, expanding the student placement program, and the creation of a Tourism Coordinator position.
Port Colborne is the first Niagara municipality to approve their 2021 Capital and Operating Budgets.
Council approved the Operating Budget Monday night.
