City approves grant program to help homeowners cover the costs of replacing their water service and sewer lateral.
Port Colborne residents won't be facing higher water and wastewater costs.
City council approved the 2022 water/wastewater budget at the December 6th meeting, with a zero percent increase to ratepayers.
Budget highlights include a grant program where homeowners can receive $1,000 towards replacing their water service and $1,000 towards replacing their sewer lateral.
Ratepayers who register for online billing will be automatically charged $15 for water/wastewater bills and $10 for property tax bills.
As well, a total of $7.2 million in capital projects were approved, including the Erie Street watermain replacement.
