The City of Port Colborne will celebrate the opening of the Welland Canal.
It will be hosting a Top Hat Ceremony on Tuesday March 24th, to welcome the captain of the first downbound vessel.
It will get underway in Lock 8 Gateway Park at 8:30 a.m.
Port Colborne’s Fair Trade Committee will serve a pancake breakfast starting at 8:00 a.m.
The City will also host a Mariner's Service on Sunday March 22nd.
It starts at 7:00 p.m. at St. James and St. Brendan Anglican Church.
A reception will follow in the Guild Hall across the street.
