It's shaping up to be a great year for residential development in Welland. The Rose City has already issued 406 building permits for new dwelling units and it's on track to hit 450 by the end of the year.
The City issued 400 permits last year and only 197 back in 2017.
Chief Building Officials Jim Tosta says Niagara has become a hot-spot for development. He's predicting a successful year and a busy 2020.
