The Town of Fort Erie is now able to better handle weather conditions such as severe winter.
The town says Holland Power Services has opened a $3-million, 13,000 square foot facility, that'll provide emergency power restoration services.
The Canadian company has locations in Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick and Maine, and in 2022, bought roughly 6-acres of vacant industrial land in Stevensville.
It wanted to open in Niagara near the Canada/US border.
Mayor Wayne Redekop says Holland Power is a recognized leader in emergency power restoration services, and the town is thrilled the company has chosen Fort Erie at its newest base.
