Ford says "Freedom Convoy" demonstrators need to let Ottawa residents return to living their lives.
Premier Doug Ford says it's time for demonstrators involved in the "Freedom Convoy" to leave downtown Ottawa.
Ford told reporters in Ajax this morning that it's time for Ottawa residents to return to living their lives and local businesses forced to close in the area to reopen.
"People have to move on," Ford said. "I get it, I hear you, but we have to let the people of Ottawa live their lives."
Police say the protest is beginning to thin, but some parts of downtown Ottawa still have heavy trucks and other vehicles.
Demonstrators arrived in the city on Friday to speak out against several COVID-19 mandates and regulations.
