Niagara MPP says this will help area residents
The Ontario government is opening another 121 seats to its Primary Health Care Nurse Practitioner program this year.
Niagara West MPP Sam Oosterhoff says this will make it easier for rural areas such as Niagara to get care as they train more nurses.
The government says nine universities province wide have added more seats for people to train, including eight positions at MacMaster University, since September.
It also says this brings the total number of nurse practitioner training positions to 321 provincially, bringing it closer to its goal of 350.
