A substantial growth spurt for Brock University.
The provincial government is spending $5.2-million in programming to train teachers at the new Burlington Campus, and in St. Catharines.
Minister of Colleges and Universities Nolan Quinn was part of a ribbon cutting ceremony today at the Robert Bateman Community Centre, with news the money will provide 360 teacher education spots.
The school says the Burlington campus is the hub for Brock's Teacher Education and Applied Disability Studies programs, with state of the art instructional science labs and more.
Guests this morning toured the new campus, which also includes a Brock University Library space in partnership with Burlington library, also satellite offices for First Nations, Metis and Inuit Student Centre.
The first classes at the campus started last month.
