Agency says there are fluctuations in COVID-19 indicators
The Public Health Agency of Canada says there are signs COVID-19 infections may be on the rise.
The agency claims after a long period of gradual decline, there are fluctuations in COVID-19 activity indicators.
It says this may be an early sign of increases, though overall activity is still on the low side across the country.
Scientists are keeping a close eye on the new EG.5 subvariant.
Experts say EG.5 is accounting for the majority of new cases in the US, and has recently found its way to Canada.
