Niagara Regional Council is updating it's mandatory mask bylaw.
It has decided to add the common areas of condos and apartment buildings to the list of affected areas.
This will cover lobbies, elevators, laundry facilities and more.
Council voted in favour of the change last night after St. Catharines City Council passed a similar motion last week.
The Region's temporary mask bylaw is currently in effect until April 1st, 2021 but Regional Council does have the power to remove it earlier if need be.
Those with a medical condition are exempt from the bylaw and they don't have to provide proof.
