A whistleblower policy is now in the works for the Niagara Region.
It will protect regional employees, if they shine a light on any wrongdoing inside the organization.
Fort Erie Mayor Wayne Redekop brought the motion forward last night.
Council decided to approve it, so staff will now create a draft policy.
It will be brought to the Corporate Services Committee, before it returns to council for final approval.
Last night’s resolution will also be circulated to all of the municipalities in Niagara.
