It could be another long night for Regional Council.
Extending the mandatory mask bylaw in Niagara is up for debate tonight.
Right now, the bylaw expires in October.
Regional Council will consider extending it until April 2021 with a vote tonight.
Hundreds of emails and messages have been pouring in to council in support of extending the bylaw.
Niagara Health President Lynn Guerriero tweeted her support last night, saying masks are critical to keep COVID-19 transmission down in the community.
She says masking, physical distancing and hand washing are our best line of defense against the virus.
She says we don't want to be in a position where we need to ramp down services again.
