And if you do, you should probably leave them alone .
They were actually put there on purpose and aren’t yet another example of plastic pollution in our Great Lakes.
The bottles have GPS trackers attached to them so that University of Toronto researchers can track where litter in Toronto Harbour ends up.
The researchers are trying to identify potential accumulation zones.
