The Royal Canadian Henley Regatta has been cancelled due to COVID-19.
It was supposed to take place in St. Catharines from August 2nd to the 9th and it usually attracts more than 100 rowing clubs every year.
Rowing Canada President Carol Purcer says cancelling the event was a difficult decision to make, but it’s the right call in order to protect everyone involved.
This is only the fourth time It's been cancelled in its 139 years.
The last time it was cancelled was from 1916 to 1918 during the First World War.
