Game to be held in the Hammer

The NHL won’t confirm it but there’s word the league is looking to hold an outdoor Heritage Classic game between two big time rivals, the Leafs and the Sabres.

According to a report in the Buffalo News, the NHL wants to hold the game at Tim Horton’s Field in Hamilton March 13th of next year.

The report noting the teams are scheduled to play a matinee that day in Buffalo, but the game is absent from the Sabres half season ticket options.

The Sabres, Leafs and NHL are all refusing to comment.
