E.coli, algae found at local beaches
Niagara Region Public Health is advising you to stay away from a few local beaches.
Seven beaches have been flagged as unsafe for swimming.
Algae has been detected at Waverly Beach in Fort Erie and Nickel Beach in Port Colborne.
Meanwhile, E.Coli has been found at Queen's Royal Beach in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Sherkston Quarry Beach in Port Colborne, Lakeside Beach in St. Catharines, Sunset Beach in St. Catharines and Long Beach in Wainfleet.
Public Health tests the water at area beaches throughout the summer, to ensure it's safe for swimmers.
