An elementary school in Welland is holding a practice lockdown procedure on Friday.
A letter went out to parents of students at St. Kevin Catholic Elementary School yesterday.
Niagara Regional Police will be involved in the simulated lockdown, but the school is stressing there is no threat to staff or students.
The practice is part of the school's Emergency Response Preparedness Plan and the practice lockdown will take about five minutes.
Just like a fire drill, the lockdown will give staff and students a chance to practice procedures in case of an emergency.
