St. Catharines man dies days after being arrested
The province's Special Investigations Unit is asking the public for tips surrounding the death of a St. Catharines man.
Investigators say on May 3rd, Niagara Regional Police officers responded to a domestic incident at a home near Pelham Road and Powerview Avenue.
Officers tried to arrest a 57 year old man when he began causing a disturbance in the front yard.
A struggle took place, and the man was handcuffed.
Shortly after, he went unconscious.
First aid was administered until paramedics arrived and took him to the hospital.
Yesterday, the man was pronounced dead in hospital.
The case has since been assigned to the SIU.
