Man fell down in cell, fracturing his vertebrae
The Special Investigations Unit says it won't charge any Niagara Regional Police officers after a man was injured in custody.
On May 2nd, officers were called to a home in Grimsby.
A man in his fifties was arrested and charged for violating a judicial release order.
According to the SIU, the man was pinned down during the arrest, after he became aggressive.
He later fell down in his cell, hit his head and was taken to hospital.
He was diagnosed with a fractured vertebrae
The SIU says there is no reason to believe the officers did anything wrong.
