Part of plan to make living in province more affordable
Sources say while the move would cost the government about a billion a year, it would save drivers $120 annually.
The sources add an announcement could come in the next couple weeks when the legislature resumes.
This comes just as the province ends the grace period to renew licence plate stickers, drivers licences and health cards.
At the beginning of the pandemic the province told us any of the cards or licence plate stickers that expired after March 2020 didn't have to be renewed in order to keep the lines down at Service Ontario centres.
But that has all changed and now the province says residents have until February 28th to renew any provincial document with an expiry date.
