Sources Say PM to Announce New GG Today

Position has been vacant for over five months

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will reportedly announce Canada's next governor general this morning,

Sources tell the CBC, the name will be unveiled at a news conference at 10 a.m. at the Canadian Museum of History.

Our last GG resigned months ago.

Former astronaut Julie Payette called it quits after an external review found she had created a toxic workplace at Rideau Hall.

Payette was accused by staff of making demeaning comments yelling and screaming, as well as humiliating them publicly.
